HecTix, or HexSticks

Designed by Stewart Coffin in 1968, made out of 12 hexagonal, notched sticks. Covered by US-Patent: 3721448 (1973). The puzzle in the picture was made from poplar, chery, honduras mahagony, and maple. There are three pieces made of each wood and it can be assembled such that the pieces of the same wood are parallel as shown in the picture. The size is roughly 12cm for the length of a stick. I made two in this size. The one in the picture was a birthday present to my sister, the other one decorates my shelf. I also made two larger versions, about 20cm stick length. One is in my office, the other one a conversation piece in our living room. The big ones are really heavy too, since I make most of my puzzles from solid hardwoods.
